I took this picture from a picnic table at Ngorongoro Crater. It was fun to eat chips and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich so close to these majestic beasts.
In the distance, you can see a thin, brown strip, which is the dirt road leading down into the crater. A convoy of vehicles is nearby.
The hippo in the middle using his buddy as a chin rest is my favorite.
On a side note, I think elections should be replaced with contests of the game Hungry, Hungry Hippos. That would at least ensure that the winner had decent hand-eye coordination.
