Improving Dream Recollection

I've found that I'm more likely to remember my dreams if I go to bed 2 to 4 hours earlier than usual or sleep in by a similar amount. Also, whatever I've been thinking or feeling in the time right before going to bed tends to affect the content of my dreams.

It's likely that you'll wake up at night if you go to bed earlier than usual, and this is a good time to record your dreams in a journal.

So far, my dreams have mostly been remixes and distortions of things that have actually happened to me: wandering around a strange city, being back in an old school or job, being out driving, or having a car accident.

Hopefully there will be more variety in my dreams someday. I'm getting tired of having the same ones over and over. I've found that eating some blue cheese right before bed tends to shake things up. Supposedly the mold in the cheese is a mild hallucinogen.
